walking around

Today was pretty much entirely taken up by going places. I went out to the two local comics shops noonish, but the people in charge of buying weren’t there in either store. Then I went out to the library to return some books, get a few, and enquire about donating a copy of Rita – I’m going to end up just proposing the library acquire copies, instead. On my way home I stopped at my regular comics shop, and sold them two copies of Rita. So if you’re in Seattle, you can now find it on the shelves in the U District Comic Stop!

Also I started setting up an online store because people are asking how they can get the book. Once I have some shipping prices nailed down I’ll open it up.

Yesterday I went to a party and handed off the first two copies of the book, as there were two Kickstarter contributors there. I brought a few extras in case anyone else looked at ’em and said “ooh awesome where can I get a copy”, which was good as I did make one more impromptu sale!

Nanowrimo count: 6160. Which is a bit deceptive as it mostly comes from me transferring a bunch of notes from the stack of notecards into Scrivener rather than writing NEW WORDS. Still, now I have most of it in one place. I also didn’t get a chance to write yesterday for reasons. So I am behiiiiind. Ah well.

And now it is time to do my best to avoid obsessively refreshing election news. Oh wait I just looked at Twitter and it seems it’s been called for Obama. CNN says it’s 256 vs 191 out of the 270 electorial college votes. Cool. Now the only election question left for me is “can Washington’s faggots get married while totally fuckin’ baked”. (I am hoping for a yes as I am one of those queers, and have a large glass pipe that’s never seen any tobacco.)

edit: That passed too. FUCK YEAH. And Dems control the Senate. Sadly the Repubs will still control the House. I wonder if they’ll still be operating on the theory of “deny everything Obama asks for, period, because that makes it look like things got fucked up on his watch” for Obama’s second term? If they want to keep on acting like spoiled two-year-olds… Nate Silver says we won’t know the final popular vote for a week or so, because CA, OR, and WA vote by mail and take a while to count. It’ll be nice if there’s a clear majority in both electoral and popular votes.

ps. sorry about the accidental comment vanishment T’, editing my WP posts manages to kill the corresponding LJ post and repost it instead of editing. Really must try to fix that. Yes, I’ve read Tekkonkinkreet, and seen the movie. It is awesome! Thanks for the recomendation though.
