My mom wanted to go through a chest full of old Christmas stuff, save a few things, and toss the rest. Here are some things I made that I had no problem tossing…
- It was the eighties, and I had PRINT SHOP. From Broderbund.
- I HAVE PRINT SHOP! AND I’M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT!
- We estimated this was made when I was about… four? It is made of yarn and glitter glued onto a piece of construction paper. I guess it’s supposed to be a Christmas tree but it looks more like a failed cake to me.
- This is Mr. Bingle. He was the Christmas mascot of Maison Blanche, a local department store. This guy was printed in parts on ordinary paper for kids to color and assemble with brads. According to the date in my mother’s handwriting on the back, I put this one together in 1975. I would have been four.
- This is my 1975 Bingle. Note that this time I chose to put the arms and legs on the front of the body. Or maybe my parents put the ’75 Bingle together, and now that I was six, I was old enough to handle scissors and brads by myself?
- AIN’T NO PARTY LIKE A SANTA STICKER PARTY.
And now I have a bit of a headache from inhaling all the dust we kicked up while digging through this stuff. Whee!
